PROJECT: TOP, BACK AND SIDES

This terraced house in the Berkhamsted Conservation Area is narrow but long - with the only scope for extending being at the top and back.  A simple dual-pitch roof mirroring the L-shaped form of the original house adds a generous open plan family space, with level access to the courtyard garden.  A further loft conversion and bathroom refurbishments were undertaken, to make full use of the period of disruption.
