PROJECT: CAREFUL INSERTIONS


A fountain was inserted into a Georgian well in the courtyard of this Grade I Listed castle in Yorkshire.  The considered use of local stone, copper and laminated glass together with a submerged pump recycling the groundwater made a visually striking but gentle impact on this precious setting.At the the same time, a series of new lightwells reinvigorate a converted basement, with a similar tonal andmaterial palette.
